Nothing like knowing the market to know a little of city culture. Different stalls, a little bit of everything.
A place for the whole family! Local with wide range of products, a true feast of colors and flavors.
Flower shops (wholesale and retail in an exclusive pavilion of flowers and varied plants. Wineries, groceries, disposables, cod, everything!
Lots of bars and restaurants. Many wine shops, utilities for the home, fruits, vegetables, flowers. Worth knowing!
A place that is not part of the tourist route, does not have sophistication, is simple, clean and quiet, well in the north zone style where is the root of Rio.
It is worth to taste a codfish or even eat typical Brazilian dishes like feijoada, oxtail, stew .... all restaurants with excellent service and the food, on the menu says the portion is for 1 person, but serves 2 very well.
Food well served and yummy!
Northeastern Fair São Cristovão
A Market that celebrates the best traditions of the northeast of Brazil. There is plenty of traditional food, clothing and arts and crafts on offer. Try the delicious typical dishes, prepared authentically with regional ingredients. Some of them can be found only here. And of course, enjoy the joyful music that accompanies your meal.
The fair is always lively and buzzing, especially on the weekend. There is always live music which is typically Forró or Baião, the anthems from the northeast, and the best acts are on Fridays and Saturdays. At any time of day, people will be singing or dancing to the music, getting swept into its rhythmic beats and getting out of their chairs to dance to some Forró which, with its intimacy and swinging moves, is wonderful to watch.
The weekend is the best time to go as all the stalls are open, the atmosphere is contagious and there is live music all day and all night.
